Urgent Fundraising Appeal for Tigy, A Kitten in Need of Specialist Surgery
Tigy is an eight-month-old tabby kitten who was due to be neutered when his pre-op check at showed he had arrhythmia with dropping heartbeats.
We got to meet Tigy when he came to our Clinic for an ultrasound and x-ray, which showed a congenital peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia (PPDH). Tigy is now neutered, but he will need specialist surgery to cure this so Tigy has the chance he deserves at a comfortable life, one where he can play without breathing excessively.
Like many, Tigy’s family have been affected by the pandemic and they simply did not realise the importance of having insurance in place for a youngster like Tigy. Given that his life is hanging on a thread day by day, we scoured across specialists, charities and hospitals, and the vet’s at CHAT, after reviewing our diagnostics (x-rays and ultrasound) accepted to do the operation for what will be around £700 (barring emergencies). Other quotes from specialists and hospitals easily came up to over double that.
Over the next 24 hours we will put forward any donations received not already earmarked for other purposes towards Tigy’s diagnostics and treatment. If you wish to donate towards this appeal please visit http://www.catcuddles.org.uk/donations.
